Essay

The Dissertation is devoted to the development of the components of the theory of analysis and synthesis of structures traction electric drives of type "IGBT inverter - asynchronous engine", as multimodule systems, which allowed to improve the energy efficiency of electrified transport modes. In accordance with developed criteria for assessing the effectiveness of traction electric drives optimum variant, - two-phase traction electric drive containing electric asynchronous engine with squirrel-cage rotor, each of the two windings of which are powered from a single-phase IGBT inverter bridge . In the course of research forms currents and voltage amplitude and PWM output voltage regulation were analyzed. It is recommended to implement trapezoidal phase voltage output that is organized through direct PWM voltage, which utilization coefficient of supply voltage is 10% higher than the sinusoidal curve. As a result, two-phase asynchronous traction drive has advantages over the traditional three-phase one in the following: the volume of the converter is 35% less, power losses in the converter are 52% less, reliability is 33% higher, the cost of the converter's component is 10% less.
