Moiseienko S. Pragmasemantic and Pragmastylistic Aspects of Modern English Scientific Computer Discourse

This dissertation focuses on pragmatic, semantic and stylistic properties of linguistic units and their functioning in the English scientific computer discourse. The research ascertains the concept of "the English scientific computer discourse" and its place in terms of other discourses, reveals genres and types of the English computer discourse. The pragmatic orientation of information in English scientific computer communication has been defined and the pragmatic variability of lexical items of the English scientific computer discourse has been analyzed. The thesis reveals dependence of pragmatic markedness of the English computer vocabulary on the communicative intention of the speaker.
