Essay

Dissertation aims at identifying regularities of structural and phase changes in the various elements of steel railway wheels, occurring under the influence of stresses during operation and corrosive components of the environment in order to determine their influence on the formation of wear particles, as well as the properties of steel wheel and develop a system to protect work surfaces wheels from damage, thereby increasing reliability and durability of railroad wheels. The regularities of structural and phase changes near the tread contact surface were identified in this paper. The paper shows their influence, as well as non-metallic inclusions influence on the formation of wear particles of different shapes, the paper shows the interdependence between the main sources of formation of wear particles on the thread contact surface. The regularities of formation of corrosion damage to steel wheel with a different chemical composition and structural state are shown in this paper. First formulated and substantiated understanding of the mechanism of the influence of non-metallic inclusions and interfaces including matrix for the development of corrosion of steel wheel. The protection system of railway wheel surface work items against the influence of environment aggressive components was developed and studied. Public Joint Stock Company "Interpipe NTRP" submitted recommendations for the application of protective coatings developed and agreed upon conditions of their application.
