Object - the on-load operation of roofing structures made of light steel thin-walled profiles and their components; goal - the development of scientific aspects of determining the strength and deformability of roofing structures' elements made of light steel thin-walled sections; novelty - for the first time the effective geometrical characteristics of cold-formed elements dependences on the initial parameters of profiles are determined by using a statistical methods; new experimental data on an on-load operation, strength and deformability of cold-formed steel profiles and profiled sheeting are obtained, including their operation as a part of a roofing structure; the effectiveness of different ways of steel profiled roofing sheeting strength increase and deformability reduction are first analyzed; results - a simplified design method for effective characteristics calculation of light steel thin-walled C- and Z-shaped sections is developed; the effect of steel profiled sheets internal supports reinforcement with onlays and overlaps is determined; recommendations on cold-formed steel profiled sheets strength and deformability testing procedure are developed; the optimum length of overlap in compound two-span continuous profiled sheets is defined; strength calculation method for two-span continuous profiled sheets is improved, including sheets with onlays and overlaps; sphere - civil engineering
