The thesis focuses on the semantic and functional peculiarities of the English tourism terminology. The work outlines main approaches to defining and studying terminological vocabulary and analyzes the structure of the terminological field "tourism" as well as the relations among its constituents. The level of the English tourism terminology representation in the explanatory and encyclopedic dictionaries has been defined. Morphological parameters of the English tourism terms have been studied. The work outlines characteristic features of tourist guides as a genre of tourism discourse and studies peculiarities of tourism terms functioning.
