Essay

The thesis deals with a comprehensive approach to the reproduction process study in pig herds, including sow reproductive ability assessment and development of remount piglets by a combination of selection and genetic methods. Sow prolificacy of Large White and Large Black breeds for interbreed crossing was higher to 12-15% more than for pure breeding. The significant influence of boars lines of Large Black and Large White breeds to the development of manorial and purebred remount young pigs by 23-41 % (P <0,001) was found. Genotype impact by genes of the MC4R and ESR receptors to lard thickness indicator was significantly (63 %; 55 %, respectively).
