Essay

The object of study - the process of propagation of electromagnetic waves in limited spatially periodic structures (LSPS) with local inhomogeneities. Purpose - search conditions forming bands and control bandwidth (LSPS) with local inhomogeneities. Results - determined the scenario of occurrence of the transmission peak in the spectrum associated with excitation of defect mode; the surface electromagnetic states in the structures photonic crystal / composite plasma-like medium have been observed; the "secondary" transmission bands in the main stopband of the one-dimensional magnetophotonic crystal have been identified in the vicinity of the FMR frequency.
