Barinova G. Efficacy of modified method of surgical treatment of recurrent dacryocystitis in children.

Dissertation is dedicated to increasing efficacy of lacrimal drainage recovery children with recurrent dacryocystitis by development of a modified method of surgical treatment with experimentally proved use of a viscoelastic solution. Modified method of surgical treatment for kids with recurrent dacryocystits has been proposed, it consists in bouginage of nasolacrimal duct with introduction of viscoelastic solution based on metylcellulose at the operation's finish stage which makes it possible to restore passage in nasolacrimal duct in 79,3 %. High efficacy of modified method in the age range from 3 months to 3 years - 84,5% is confirmed, with decreasing of efficacy to 45,5% along with increasing of patients' age from 3 to 5 years. Presence of concomitant ENT-organs changes (curvature of the nasal septum of I stage, narrowing of the nasal passages) insignificantly decreases efficacy of treatment using modified method to 76%.
