Essay

The dissertation provides the solving of the important theoretical and practical problem related to the obtaining the required parameters of controllability and stabil-ity for a multi-axis car during the design process. The mathematical model of the cur-vilinear plane motion for the multi-axis car is created as a basis for the developed al-gorithm and PC calculation program, which can be used to simulate the required and necessary steering movements at the stage of designing, to produce the actual trajec-tory, to give the preliminary assessment of controllability and stability of the object being developed. It enables to put the necessary rate of the listed properties into the vehicle being designed. The comparison of the obtained calculated results with the testing results on the range (maneuvers "perestavka" and "turning", the defining of the total moment of resistance to curvilinear motion) on the car model produced in 1:5 scale for the defining of the turning moment proves the adequacy of the devel-oped mathematical model. The results of the research were accepted for use by PAT "AvtoKrAZ" for re-vision and improving the existing four-steer gear vehicles as well as designing the new ones.
