Essay

New methods of the synthesis of fused imidazoles by copper (I) catalyzed cyclization of N-aryl or heteroaryl amidines were described in the thesis. In the main part the synthesis of the start N-(haloaryl) and N-(2-haloheteroaryl) amidines were developed. The new approach to the amidines of the five membered heterocycle derivatives was developed which was based on the Curtiss rearrangement of the carboxylic group into the protected amino group. Such amidines were not accessible before by direct reaction of the corresponding amides and amino substituted heterocyles due to the low stability of the last one.
