A thesis for and candidate of technical sciences (PhD) degree, specialty 05.16.06. - Powder metallurgy and composite materials. National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic" Kyiv, 2014. The work is devoted to developing the foundations of the process of obtaining wear-resistant cermet coatings by the method of electron-beam cauterization, the essence of which is that in the two-layer composition formed from powders of Fe-Ni-Cr- B-Si, Ni-Cr- B-Si, Cu-Zr alloys and refractory boride during continuous high-speed electron-beam heating processes sequentially taking place sintering of the refractory skeleton, melting of the fusible layer, wetting the base by melt and the capillary transportation of melt in the pores of the refractory carcass. Cermet coatings based on TiB2, ZrB2, HfB2 and Ni-Cr-B-Si, Fe-Ni-Cr-B-Si, Cu-Zr metallic bonds were obtained. The processes of the structure formation, mechanical properties and performance of the coatings were investigated. Produced batch of test samples of the composite of TiB2(ZrB2) - Cu-Zr coatings, have passed successful industrial tests at the "Antonov" company. Keywords: cermet coatings, transition metals diborides, self-fluxing alloys, electron-beam heating, burning, wear-resistance.
