Essay

The dissertation presents a complex analysis of the financial and legal status of bank reserves. The author has studied the evolution of theoretical and regulatory methods in legal regulation of bank reserves. There were determined types of reserves in banking system of Ukraine, specifics of the legal status of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, gold and currency reserve of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), bank mandatory and insurance reserves. The author further offers theoretical basis for developing a legal institution of bank reserves as a sub-institution in a course of study of Financial Law.
