Shumilina K. Clinical and laboratory justification of a complex method for prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced oral complications in patients with breast cancer

It was found a high intensity of dental hard tissue and periodontal diseases, changes of the oral mucosa, and disorders of bone structure and its mineralization, an increase of the inflammatory markers' level and a decline of the protective mechanisms in the oral fluid, caused by chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer. The experimental studies have shown that dental elixir kvertulin has significant mucosa protective effect and reduces the degree of dysbiosis in the oral mucosa. We have proposed the set of genes (COL1A, GSTM1, IL-6, TNF, p53, CALCR, ER-?) for prognosis of development and differentiated approach to prevention and treatment of oral complications during treatment with cytostatics. According to the results of clinical-laboratory and molecular genetic studies it has been developed the comprehensive method for prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced oral complications in cancer patients. The high efficiency of the proposed complex has been shown in clinical studies.
