Baranovskyi O. Clinical justification and laboratory construction of complete denture in complete absence of teeth on one of the jaws.

Dissertation is devoted to the question of improving the efficiency of orthopedic treatment of patients with a complete absence of teeth on one of the jaws by improving clinical and laboratory fabrication of complete dentures based on the study of clinical conditions of its functioning, justification the amount and type of preparation of the opposite dental row and formation of balanced occlusion. The causes of complete dentures unsatisfactory functioning on one of the jaws were systematized. The analysis of the antagonizing dental row and its influence on the stabilization of complete denture on the opposite jaw was carried out. The ways of preparation of the opposite dental row that allows to design complete dentures with high degree of functionality were justified. The effectiveness of use of individual occlusal curves, focusing on which the diagnostic arrangement of artificial teeth on the edentulous jaw should be done and which is a guide for the preparation of the configuration of the dental row on the opposite jaw was confirmed. Preparation of the antagonizing dental row should be carried out by eliminating the dentoalveolar deformities of dental row or pathological teeth wearing by occlusal correction with composites, fixed or removable partial dentures. On the basis of laboratory and clinical studies a method of fabrication of complete dentures in cases of different topographic and anatomical peculiarities of edentulous jaws that allows to achieve reliable clinical results was provided.
