Essay

The thesis discusses the ways of extending resource of the cutting elements of earthmover's operating parts by reducing their wear. The work provides analysis of the effect of various methods and techniques on the resource of cutting elements. The use of TiN-Cr2N plasma ion coating on the surface of cutting elements was proposed. The equation of dependence of the cutting element's resource on its wear was obtained. The TiN-Cr2N coating application regime and rational parameters were established. Laboratory research has proved that application of this coating reduces the wear of fragments of the motor grader's blade 1.78 times on average. Operating tests on a DZ-180 grader proved positive effect from application of TiN-Cr2N coating on the blade surface: their wear was 1.72 times lower than in regular blades, which translates into the increase of their resource from 322 to 550 machine-hours.
