Author of this effort is analysing the late stage of Richard Straus's opera heritage from point of theory of the late phase's creation's specificity. Keeping of R. Strauss as the last representative of German romanticism allows examining the question of the late phases on two levels: within the limits of creation of concrete author and at the level of general stylish paradigm. Owing to the fact that author is widely using analytical method the genre, dramaturgic, intonation features of the last operas of R. Strauss are expressly formulated - including in their connections with all creation of composer and achievements of his predecessors - and the unique traits of the composer's late opera creation are cleared up on the whole. In the thesis is also offered important for understanding of the Richard Strauss's phenomenon review of historical background of composer's life and activity in 1940s and analysed influence of difficult ideological context on life of Strauss's creation in the times we live in.
