Subject of research: wind flow processes which influence on kinematic parameters of the rotor of vertical-axis wind flow power plant. Object of research: determine the kinematic parameters of the flow and the aerodynamic characteristics of the rotor of vertical-axis power plant with straight blades using a mathematical model of a potential flow around a rotating permeable cylinder. Methods of research: mathematical modeling in within the a mixed boundary value problem for the Laplace equation and the physical experiment. Theoretical and practical results. Innovations: developed a mathematical model of the potential flow around a circular cylinder, improved functional dependencies to determine the angles of attack and flow velocities on the blades of vertical-axis rotor, method for calculating the aerodynamic characteristics of wind driven power plant rotor was developed. Results have been implemented on State Enterprise "Kharkov Aggregate Design Bureau" and National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute". Implementation efficiency: improving the efficiency of wind driven power plant. Utilization field: design and fabrication of vertical-axis rotors.
