Essay

Object of research: аssociation of Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus that are common pathogens of the skin and subcutaneous tissue infectious diseases. The aim - increasing the effectiveness of combined antimicrobial agents action on association of C. albicans and S. aureus that are common pathogens of the skin and subcutaneous tissue infectious diseases on the basis of obtaining new scientific data about biological properties of these pathogens. Methods of research: bacteriological, bacterioscopic, cytological, biochemical, statistical. Equipment: microscope, thermostat, autoclave, dry-heat oven, biochemical and enzyme-linked immunosorbent analyzer, spectrophotometer, laboratory centrifuge, single-channel pipettes of variable volume, laboratory scales. Complex study of biological properties of C. albicans and S. aureus strains allowed for the first time to identify the relationship between the structural elements of microbial cell walls, their adhesive properties, the content of teichoic acids and trace elements, enzymatic activity and the ability to form biofilms. For the first time it was revealed that the increase in the synthesis of enzymes necessary for redox processes in the formation of microbial cell protective factors and antibiotic resistance formation is associated with an increase in their antagonism to phagocytosis. It was established that the combination of antimycotics terbinafine and antiseptics benzoylperoxide has the greatest activity against C. albicans and S. aureus consortium in the experiments in vitro among studied antimicrobial substances. For the first time it was proved that this combination affects on either planktonic cells or microorganisms mobilized in biofilms. The degree of implementation: pat. № 88794, № 88795, information letter about innovation in health care, acts of introduction into teaching programmes of Ukraine universities and medical institutions. Scope (area) of application: medicine (surgery, traumatology, dermatology, anesthesiology and intensive care, oncology, urology, gynecology, infectious diseases).
