Subject: process of the sustainable resource development strategy formation of Zaporizhzhya region machine industry enterprises in the context of market economy. Goal: working out of the scientific-methodological thesis and action-oriented recommendations concerning sustainable resource strategy formation, its evaluation, assessment, criteria classification, index numbers formation, methodology of the machine industry enterprises' sustainable resource strategy formation. Research methods: system analysis, complex structure formalization, integration and scientific abstraction, information handling statistical method, pattern method, factorial analysis, balance method, analysis technique, synthesis procedure, induction, deduction, abstraction, dynamic series analysis, economic and mathematical modeling. Proposed: for the first time: methodical approach to the machine industry enterprises' sustainable resource development strategy's increasing efficiency on the basis of the integrated elements of sustainable resource development and resource-efficient strategy; improved: definition of the "sustainable resource development strategy" category, theoretical basis of the enterprise sustainable resource development strategy's formation tools; methodological approach to the definition of the machine industry enterprises sustainable resource development strategy's formation tools, that specifies strategy, methodological approach to the estimation of the machine industry enterprises' sustainable resource strategy working out; has got further development: "sustainable resource development" conceptual structure, grounds of the enterprises' resources classification.
