The dissertation is devoted to the elaboration of theoretical, methodological and practical recommendations for improvement of state regulation of the functioning of agri-food system in Ukraine. The theoretical and methodological basis for the government regulation in a market economy is summarized. The essence of the concept of "agri-food system" is defined from a position of system and functional approaches. The priorities of the state agrarian policy of Ukraine, which have been implemented, are outlined.
