Theoretical principles of health insurance market functioning investigated, VHI as an insurance product described, role of VHI in different healthcare systems discovered. The analysis of Ukrainian VHI market in terms of its players, developed products and premiums size is given. An approach of choosing strategic development priorities of the companies at VHI market with the help of healthcare system efficiency coefficient is developed. The algorithm for evaluating VHI market size by calculating its market and sales potential is proposed. A model of VHI products individualization is described. Problem issues of VHI market regulation are examined. Perspectives of VHI development in Ukraine are highlighted.
