Essay

The thesis is devoted to the urgent problem of the formation of the value-semantic orientations in high school students while studying the Humanities. The paper covers the theoretical and methodological aspects of the problem, analyzes its current state, determines the essence of basic concepts and defines the value-semantic orientations of high school students. The scientific analysis of the content of the Humanities and their impact on the formation of the value-semantic orientations in high school students is done. The structure, characteristics, criteria and levels of development of the value-semantic orientations in high school students are defined; the didactic conditions of their formation are suggested. The diagnostic methods are created. To maintain the process of formation of the value-semantic orientations in high school students there has been developed and tested the following methodical resource: a system of didactic situations and tasks, case-study involving high school students' experience and individual characteristics; methodical recommendations; elective course "Values and meanings of life". The study has proved and experimentally verified the didactic conditions and means of the formation high school students' value-semantic orientations while studying the humanities. The quantitative and qualitative rates of experimental work have showed the effectiveness of implementation of the developed didactic conditions and means of the formation high school students' value-semantic orientations while studying the humanities.
