Essay

Thesis is devoted to functional and occlusal analysis of age-related changes of the working guiding function of occlusal surfaces of the teeth taking into account bioelectric activity of masticatory muscles, which depends on the force of contraction, the state of occlusion, topography of and area of wearing facets in different functionally-oriented parts of the dental row, data of T-Scan III and reproducing it during modeling of the occlusal surfaces of fixed constructions. During the study of occlusion of patients of different age groups the peculiarities of laterotrusion were discovered and it was shown that prominent canine protection guidance changes to the group function involving more teeth of the working side. On the basis of obtained data on the occlusal guidance in patients with continuous dental arches depending on their age group and peculiarities of guiding function, it was justified that in fixed dentures it’s necessary to repeat the shape of occlusal surfaces and wearing facets typical for the masticatory apparatus of appropriate age. Restoration of lost teeth with a fixed prosthesis should be carried out without changing the existing relations in the lateral parts of the dental row in order to prevent change of age-related morphofunctional relationship between dental rows during the function. Data of EMG before and after prosthetics shown normalization of the masticatory muscles function and confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed scheme of occlusal surfaces modeling in fixed prosthodontics.
