Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the theoretical, methodological and practical issues of the strategy of tourism sector development management. In the process of the research the author defines the essence of tourism sector development management and systematizes the influence of various factors on the process of strategic management of the tourism sector, also grounding the key components of the development strategy for the sector of tourism. The analysis is carried out concerning the key trends in the development management of tourism during the years 2009-2013, generalizing the foreign experience in the field of strategic management of tourism development and describing the state regulation of tourism sector development. The research solves a highly important theoretical and methodological task of the improvement in the development strategy for the tourism sector, also grounding the scientific methodological approach to determination of the priority territories taking into account the peculiarities of the current stage of the tourism potential development. This enables the formation of the efficient policy on the development of each component of the tourism sector, also determining the contents of actions on the tactical level of development strategy realization in Ukraine's tourism sector. The author is the first to develop the scientific methodological approach to selection of projects for the investment into the development of the tourism sector. The essence of this author's approach lies in the development of theoretical and methodological grounds for choosing the top-priority tourism regions by means of ranging tourism projects at the regional level applying the statistical and expert methods based on the minimization of investment costs.
