Object of investigation: Eocene deposits of the Black sea north-western shelf and adjacent dry-land; objectives of studies: lithology of Eocene deposits, geology-paleooceanographical conditions of the epipelagic sedimentation of the Black sea segment of the Tethys ocean; methods of investigation: petrographical, mineralogical, structure-textural, lithology-facial, rentgendifractometrical, electrone-microscopical, sedimentology-paleooceanographical; practical value: the prospective areas of the hydrocarbon reservoirs have been established; scientific novelty: lithofacial models for Lower, Middle and Upper Eocene deposits were built, matter composition and structure-textural rocks features and characteristic traits of its microstructure were distinguished; the typical associations of minerals of subclass of laminated dimetasilicates have been determined, kutnahorite have been revealed and the model of its formation has been developed, sedimentary models for some Eocene sub stages are constructed; spheres of using: lithology of sedimentary strata.
