The object of research - process of structure formation in titanium alloys produced by powder metallurgy. Subject of research - the laws of structure formation and its influence on the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of titanium alloys produced by powder metallurgy. The purpose of research - improving the mechanical and service properties of sintered titanium alloys that are used in aggressive environments, by forming the optimal structure for stages of technological and metallurgical processing. Research methods - Determination of chemical composition of alloys was carried out by X-ray spectrometry analysis and chemical methods, and determination of the structural components was carried out by energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry method. Metallographic examination of the structure and fractographs of breaks of alloys were performed using optical and scanning electron microscopes. The phase composition of the alloys was monitored by X-ray analysis. Mechanical properties were determined by standard methods for static, alternating and shock loads. The corrosion resistance of titanium alloys was investigated by mass method. The results obtained - The influence of the composition of the powder mixture PT5-1 and titanium hydride to form the shape, size and number of pores in the sintered titanium alloys. The understanding of the influence of the shape and size of pores on fracture mechanisms of sintered titanium alloys was enhanced. The regularities of the formation of the surface structure of titanium alloys produced by powder metallurgy techniques based on a mixture of powders PT5-1 and titanium hydride and under the influence of laser treatment were determined. The regularities of the influence of thermal diffusion treatment on structure and properties of the surface layers of titanium alloys produced by powder metallurgy from a mixture of powders PT5-1 and titanium hydride were determined. Results were implemented on SE "Zaporozhye Titanium-Magnesium Plant" and JSC Scientific and Production Company "Technology 2000". Application industry - chemical industry.
