Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the value-semantic characteristics of the discursive dimension of politics of historical memory in Ukraine. Conducted research is indicating that the representation of historical memory in the mass media and media discourse have obvious signs. Discourse of historical memory used to power legitimacy. In terms of Ukrainian historical discourses that reflect the two main historical canons used to form the respective political and cultural identities, which, in turn, manifested in political, particularly in the electoral and behavior. That is, the "struggle for history" in Ukraine is nothing but a struggle for political power. It is proved that the discourse of collective memory always aimed at deconstruction historical canon, which serves to legitimize the ruling. Proved that the traumatic nature of social experience and tragic narratives define the implementation of the scheme and the difficulty of Historical Memory in Ukraine, and this determines the relevance of ethical and political values in the implementation of this policy.
