Tsaruk O. English terminology of oil and gas industry: peculiarities of structure and semantics

The main ways of terminology formation, peculiarities of systematic organization of oil and gas terminology have been determined, lexical-semantic, derivational, cognitive aspects of the terminology under analysis have been outlined. The cognitive nature and basic concepts of English oil and gas terms in scientific and technical texts and lexicographical sources have been revealed. The structural and semantic differentiation of English oil and gas terms has been conducted by means of analyzing phraseological combinations, their main and dependent components. The ways and methods of terminological derivation have been established. The terminological frequency and term saturation of professional texts ihave been analysed.
