Essay

Dissertation deals with developing and investigation of concrete-steel cylindrical support element with a steel jacket of a new type. The novelty of developed concrete-steel cylindrical bearing element is in its meshed holder, which is performed by expanding and starching the solid metal sheet via low-waste technology. Experimental research of cylindrical concrete-steel support elements with a solid holder and proposed bearing elements with a meshed steel jacket were conducted. Analysis of numerical results of a bearing ability obtained from the developed model of a deformation of concrete-steel cylindrical elements under axial compression and experimental investigation shows the reproducibility of the results within 10%. This confirms the correctness of the developed model for calculation of the bearing ability of concrete-steel constructions with different types of steel jacket. Analysis of numerical results of magnification factor of the support ability obtained theoretically by Vasilkov-Shmukler criteria and experimentally, shows that reproducibility within 15%. The results of the investigations were reflected in designing and reconstruction of building and bridge pillars.
