Lyubchenko M. Increasing the strength and durability of protective and decorative polymer coatings modified with methyl methacrylate.

The dissertation is devoted to current scientific and technical requirements to improve the strength and durability of decorative and protective coatings on the base of polymer materials. The dissertation is aimed at creating mixtures with modifying additive of methylmethacrylate in order to impart additional strength and durability to protective and decorative coatings improving the adhesion of coatings. Using the theoretical knowledge about interaction of components in the dispersion medium is developed of the dispersion acrylic compositions with the application of the modifier MMA to provide additional strength and durability of the protective and decorative coatings and increased their adhesion to the surface. The optimal part of MMA in the compositions, physical and mechanical properties of modified coatings with MMA had been determined and performed complex testing. The durability of the protective and decorative coatings with MMA is calculated. It takes into account the results of laboratory and field tests. The degree of influence of the environmental factors to the changes of properties of the protective and decorative coatings has been determined.
