Sviridova S. The creative work of O.Znosko-Borovskiy in the context of the stylistic tendencies of Ukrainian music of XX-th century

The thesis deals with O.Znosko-Borovskiy’s creativity, whose musical heritage is unstudied for today and demands the extended musicology research. Scientific novelty of the dissertation is that first in the history of Ukrainian musicology has been done the complex analysis of O.Znosko-Borovskiy’s personality and his creative work. The purpose of the thesis is a study of features of O.Znosko-Borovskiy’s style, stylistic evolutions of his creativity, the establishment of stages of his creative activity, the revelation of features of genres treatment, stylistic of works, character of composer’s outlook, the delineation of ideological and aesthetic foundations of his creativity and determination of the importance of O.Znosko-Borovskiy’s creative personality for Ukrainian musical culture. The author’s musical exposition has an effect on the figuratively-dramaturgic sphere of his works that incarnates the life-asserting beginning and romantic perception of the world of the composer. Contrasting concessive dramaturgy, open dynamism of musical material, bright vivid comparisons, clarity of forms, concert sounding of scores – are the main features of the composer’s style. O.Znosko-Borovskiy’s creative work that has an obvious evolution of his musical writing could occupy his location in vast heritage of Ukrainian musical culture and has made considerable contribution to development of national musical literature.
