Essay

A thesis gives the complex analysis of the nature of absenteeism as a phenomenon of modern electoral culture in Ukraine. It defines the specific features of absenteeism in terms of Ukrainian society. Theoretically grounded concept of "absenteeism" in political science and interdisciplinary discourse is given. The status of indicated phenomenon in foreign and domestic political research is shown. Author analyzes the specificity of absenteeism in electoral culture in Ukraine. A Western experience of overcoming absenteeism is determined. Also possible ways of its implementation in the Ukrainian political and cultural space are mentioned. The main factors of preventing the phenomenon of absenteeism are set by the author.
