Essay

The object of research - the work of concrete and reinforced concrete structural members under torsion; goal - research of the complete shearing stress-strain curve according to the experimentally defined parametric points and to determine the influence of the secant shear modulus of concrete as a component of the reinforced concrete elements' torsional stiffness with and without cracks on the spatial work of reinforced concrete structures; methods - experimental study of concrete samples (model experiment); computer modeling of structures using software systems which implement the finite element method, and numerical-analytical methods for statically indeterminate cross-ribbed systems' calculation; results - new experimental data has been obtained; the method for the torsional stiffness of the reinforced concrete elements with normal cracks under bending with torsion calculation has been improved by the secant shear modulus' consideration; the engineering bilinear shearing stress-strain curve for concrete has been offered; introduced - to the practice of the ribbed slabs' design; to the educational process.
