Essay

The thesis deals with lingvo cultural gender marked concepts MANN and FRAU in the works of West Ukrainian German-speaking writers of nineteenth and early twentieth century. The concept of gender in gender theory is interpreted as psychological, social and cultural feature between a man and a woman, because many of the differences between men and women are caused not only because biological factors. The meaning of "masculinity" and "femininity" is constructed through language and that's why we should pay special attention to the processes of creation of power relations through language. Thus, under the notion of gender in modern Linguistics, unlike gender theory, we understand the designation of biological sex in society as it exists in society. Gender studies is the study of various aspects of women's and men's divisions (differences). They point out not only the differences between the sexes, but also their various activities in society. The social aspect of gender is in assimilation of gender roles and image of the behaviors that the society expects to see from a man and a woman. Gender linguistics has a special place among the new areas of Linguistics. It deals with in the language fixed stereotypes of speech behavior of a man and a woman and becomes the main problem of linguistic research.
