Essay

The thesis is devoted to magneto-optical properties of rare earth borates TbFe3(BO3)4, NdFe3(BO3)4 and TbAl3(BO3)4 and the determination of features of the magnetic field induced magnetization and magnetic phase transitions in iron borates. It is shown that at low temperatures the faraday rotation in TbFe3(BO3)4 is determined by the Tb3+ ions, the formation of magnetic intermediate state and simultaneously elastic scattering of light were established during thd spin-orientation phase transition in this crystal. The effect of growth impurities on low temperature magnetization TbFe3(BO3)4 was detected.
