Essay

This research focuses on laser shock wave treatment of product surfaces from structural materials. The possibility of the surface morphology control of materials by laser shock wave treatment in the transparent condensed medium is shown. The method of optical-digital control, which is promising to assess morphological features on the meso- and macro levels of laser treated surfaces, has been proposed. It can be the base for the rapid analysis of the technical state of the structural elements surface. The microhardness increasing of thin boundary layer after laser shock wave treatment (from 2200 to about 6000 MPa) is found, that indicating high temperature and pressure in the irradiated area. It was shown that the rate of corrosion of steel 15Kh13MF after treatment by nanosecond laser pulses is reduced by 2 times. A new method of laser shock plasma implantation of finely dispersed material on the surface of the flexible substrate has been developed. For the first time investigated the structure and properties of ZnO nanopowder after laser shock wave treatment. A new way to creation of periodic structures on the surface of copper foil using nanosecond laser pulses has been proposed.
