Essay

The dissertation is the first complex research on regional urban fauna of oribatid mites in Ukraine. Species composition of oribatids in Kyiv consists of 132 species, of which 87 are shown for Kyiv for the first time. Distribution of oribatid mites is analyzed, along with qualitative and quantitative comparative characteristics of their species complexes. As analysis of main components of number of species, Shannon's and Simpson's indices has shown, the studied species complexes make up a continuous set.
