Essay

The dissertation is devoted to synthesis and X-ray studies for metal complexes based upon polyfunctional pyridazine ligands. Crystal structures of coordination polymers involving Ag(I), Cu(I), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Co(II) ions reveal basic trends for coordination modes of the ligands. Cuprocyanide complexes provide a rare example for 4-coordination of cyanide and first example for p -coordination of cyanide towards Cu(I). The series of 1,3-bis(4-pyridazinyl)benzene complexes reveals an anion-selective assembly of discrete cationic capsules [(SiF6)2Cu2(1,3-dpph)4]2+.
