The thesis is devoted to development of theoretical and methodological foundations and practical recommendations for improving the competitiveness of the formation mechanisms of the food industry. The mechanism of improving the competitiveness of the food industry resourse-based management activities based on the principles of rationality and program-based approach implements a set of measures to improve the efficiency of resource-saving activities on the basis of the totality of organizational and managerial innovations and technological resource created and now reclaimed.
