Shaida E. Combined treatment of prognostically unfavorable forms of soft tissues malignant tumors in children with haemopoesis support by autologous stem cells

The thesis deals with the problem of combined treatment of children with prognostically unfavorable forms of soft tissues malignant tumors. A haematologic and nonhaematologic toxicity were evaluated in this research. Author developed the method of intensive second line chemotherapy, and proved the feasibility of the method supporting haemopoesis with autologous peripheral blood stem cells in children with soft tissues malignant tumors. It was proved that intensive second line chemotherapy with haemopoesis support by the autologous PBSC doubles the survival rate of patients with prognostically unfavorable forms of soft tissues malignant tumors, shortens deep myelosuppression duration and allows treatment according to the scheduled time. Overall 5-year survival rate of patients in the study group was 65,2 ± 14,5%, control - 39,1 ± 18% (p = 0,04).
