The research focuses on a comprehensive analysis of the terminological system of German professional language of diplomacy. The methods of diplomatic terminology research are suggested. The structural types of terms of diplomacy and their semantic and word forming features are described. Due to the use of different methods of modern analysis the ways of normalization and standardization of terminological vocabulary of diplomacy based on the criterion of motivation and building of semantic and structural models of terms are defined. It enabled further recommendations of streamlining the terminology of modern German diplomacy.
