Essay

Thesis deals with the problem of improvement of diagnosis and treatment of pa-tients suffering from perennial allergic rhinitis with combined sensitization to fungi and dust mites by means of refinement of clinical and immunological features of this pathology, optimization of diagnostic tests complex and combined treatment in the form of specific immunotherapy using allergens of house dust mites in conjunction with antimycotic therapy. The material presented in this research was obtained after survey of 1420 patients with perennial allergic rhinitis at the premises of Allergy Department at Kharkiv City Hospital number 27, Kharkiv City Clinic №1, and skin tests of 402 selected patients. Patients (95) which had sensitization to mites and house dust mold fungi underwent mycotic examination of nasal cavity mucus. Patients (33) who had mold fungi sown in the nasal cavity were examined and divided into two groups: the main group received allergen specific immunotherapy from house dust enriched by mites in parallel with antimycotic therapy; the control group received only allergen specific immunotherapy of dust mites. Consequently, the undertaken studies complemented scientific data on the structure of household allergens (mites and fungi) in the premises where patients suffering from PAR with combined sensitization to allergens of dust mites and mold fungi live; study of immunological state of patients suffering from PAR with combined sensitization to allergens of dust mites and mold fungi received further development; clinical researches proved high efficacy of proposed combined treatment scheme both on the basis of the analysis of subjective and objective indices and undertaken laboratory and immunological studies.
