Object: electrochemical processes in composite LiMn2O4 and MnO2-electrodes with carbon additives in thin-layer and bulk electrodes in lithium current sources. Objective: improvement of energy capacity of lithium current sources based on manganese dioxide and lithium-manganese spinel when used in composition with modified carbon nanotubes, and by surface modification of lithium-manganese spinel with cobalt oxide. Methods: X-ray analysis; Scanning electron microscopy; impedance spectroscopy; cyclic voltammetry; galvanostatic cycling. Results: improved electrodes based on LiMn2O4 and MnO2 when used in composition with modified multiwall carbon nanotubes (MCNT) which promote efficiency of cycling and energy capacity of composite electrodes compared with natural graphite EUZ-M that is the result of the resistance decrease of charge transfer through the interfacial area of film (SEI)/active material. It is shown that the use of modified MCNT in composite electrodes based on LiMn2O4 and MnO2 allows to reduce the amount of conductive additives from 10 to 2 %.
