Essay

Object: diabetic retinopathy. Objective: to improve the treatment effectiveness of diabetic retinopathy by experimental and clinical studies, using recombinant erythropoietin. Methods: oftalmological, biochemical, histomorphological, electron microscopy, statistical data processing; scanner table Rota, slit lamp microscope Jenamed 2. The first set value erythropoietin concentration in the peripheral blood and in the vitreous of rats. For the first time it found that subcutaneous administration of recombinant erythropoietin leads to increase its level in the peripheral blood and in the vitreous body, prevents the development of cardiovascular damages the retina and neurodegenerative changes in the retina of diabetic rats with streptozotocin at a duration of 6 months of observation. It is found that the use of a recombinant erythropoietin in treatment of diabetes mellitus complicated by diabetic nephropathy, leading to regression of diabetic macular edema in 48.7% of patients and stabilization of visual acuity in 75.7%.
