In the thesis the theoretical and methodological foundations of a sustainable level of development of agricultural sector in the region. The classification features of the concept of "sustainability of the region" and "sustainability of the agricultural sector in the region." Given the author's interpretation of the term "economic stability of the region", which made it possible to consider sustainability from the standpoint of both positive and negative impacts on the regional economy and the concept of "economic stability of the agricultural sector", which made it possible to examine the stability of the agricultural sector of the region from the standpoint of consistency and manageability. Defined the functioning of agricultural economic system and day-ness of the economic mechanism of management.
