Essay

It is demonstrated protective effect of BAP and HP on wheat seedlings under high temperature stress conditions on decreasing photosynthetic complex destruction and activation antioxidant system. It is shown that exogenous BAP and HP treatment in booting phase stabilized leaves water status under natural drought. By using confocal microscopy method, for the first time it is demonstrated that BAP and HP stabilized chloroplasts in wheat leaves under drought that was identified by red fluorescence of intact chloroplasts. It is established that treatment by BAP and HP delayed photosynthetic pigments degradation under drought conditions and stimulated increasing pigment content after stress. It is demonstrated that exogenous BAP and HP treatment maintained endogenous H2O2 content at concentrations that do not exceed 10-6 M. It is shown that BAP and HP treatment stimulated activity of antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase and ascorbate peroxidase. Combined effect of BAP and HP was less significant than the effect of single BAP on wheat plants under drought conditions. For the first time it is shown that the induction of adaptive reactions of cereals by BAP and HP stabilized morphogenesis processes and increased plant productivity. Therefore, it is established for the first time that signal effect of BAP and HP plays a crucial role in improving cereals drought tolerance.
