The thesis is a comprehensive analysis of financial and legal bases of health care maintenance in Ukraine. The thesis contains a number of theoretical positions and practical recommendations, which were made as a result of a comprehensive analysis of historical and foreign experience, current legislation of Ukraine, and the achievements of domestic and foreign scientists in the health care funding sphere. According to the intended purpose it was defined: the state's role in the system of mandatory state social insurance, the role and functions of the state as a party of legal relationships in the field of mandatory state health insurance was studied.
