Essay

The paper focuses on adjectival adverbs in -o (-e) // -ly in semantic-syntactic context in Ukrainian and English languages. It has been proved that these units form productive and actively used in speech subclasses with specific lexical-semantic and morphologico-syntactic features in adverbial systems in both languages. They are part of sentence constructions mainly used as elements of the attributive function of verb-adverbial, adjectival-adverbial and adverbial-adverbial subordinate adverbial phrases, as components of coordinated phrases, as well as parcelling and separated structures.
