The dissertation is the first in domestic science of social security law special complex research of theoretical and practical problems of legal maintenance of social protection of young people in Ukraine. The thesis defines the concept and features of youth as a legal category, the formation, current status and prospects of development of Ukrainian legislation on social protection of young people are being characterized. The industry nature of social relations in the sphere of social protection of young people and areas of their legal regulation were researched. Forms and types of social protection of youth under the laws of Ukraine are singled out. Guarantees and social benefits in employment, education, health care as legal means of social protection of youth under the laws of Ukraine are characterized. Social services as a form of social protection of youth are researched. Scientifically based proposals for improvement of current legislation of Ukraine in the sphere of social protection of youth are formulated.
