Essay

The object of study - the processes of electromagnetic waves propagation in metamaterials based on photonic crystal and gyrotropic media. The goal - to determine the features of the electromagnetic properties of gyrotropic metamaterials required for the development of artificial materials. Results - investigated the Faraday effect enchancement in metamaterials, studied the band structure of the spectrum of chiral layered periodic media, the approach to the formation of artificial uniaxial chiral metamaterials with predetermined effective constitutive parameters.
